Accounting programs teach the practice of accounting, which is nicknamed the language of business. Accounting students have the same core curriculum; however, it is common for students to take on a second major in addition to their accounting degree in order to specialize in other areas.

It is important to scrutinize the accounting program of the university you will be attending. Take note of school's accreditation and the quality of the faculty that teach the accounting classes.
